Ocean freight
from Japan to Senegal
Dakar is West Africa’s gateway port and also serves as a staging point for the landlocked countries behind it. Cargo sails directly from Japanese ports to Dakar, with none of the long inland legs that Central Asian routings involve. We are strongest on the commodities we already move: used cars, used tyres and construction machinery.
* The route shown is indicative. Actual transit points and modes of transport may change depending on carrier schedules and customs conditions.
LOCAL IMPORT
We can handle the import clearance locally
Import clearance and collection at destination are normally the consignee’s responsibility, but in Senegal we can take them on. This suits shippers with no importer of record on the ground, or anyone approaching a first shipment who would rather not navigate local formalities alone. Feasibility depends on the cargo, so please ask.
No local importer needed
We can act on the import side even where the consignee has no entity in the country.
Clearance through collection
Documentation, import clearance and collection from the port, handled as one package.
Fine for a first shipment
Come to us before you know which documents or procedures apply.
SOC CONTAINER
We can also arrange SOC containers
For inland destinations such as Senegal, carriers expect their containers back, so a COC booking can be declined or priced heavily. With a shipper’s owned container there is nothing to return.
No return, no detention
Nothing has to go back to an inland depot, so detention and demurrage do not arise.
Reach where carriers won’t go
Regions where carrier boxes are restricted can still be served on a door basis.
A second life on arrival
The container can be reused as storage at destination, or sold locally.
